Selkirk Grace

Some hae meat and canna eat,

And some wad eat that want it;

But we hae meat, and we can eat,

Sae let the Lord be thankit.

Robert Burns *

*The ‘Selkirk Grace’ is a well-known thanksgiving poem said before meals. It is usually said after guests have sat down to enjoy a Burns Night supper, before the first course is served.
